This is still a work in progress (WIP) so bear with me:
Here's a concept I'm working on. I haven't done much in the way of prop concepts, so I thought I'd start off with something bad ass. I always thought that Death's Scythe would have to be the ultimate weapon considering its mere touch causes life to cease. In this concept we are seeing the full weapon in a position just off of a profile angle and its removed base. The skull and metal shaft remove from the base of the scythe to become a pointed blade and a skull end that can be used as a club. The spinal portion on up can be used as an axe. Pretty cool for just over an hour or so, eh? I'll post more as I render this out a bit.

Get a FREE commission
Okay, I normally charge for the work I do, after all, one should charge for goods or services completed right? WRONG - freebies rule. So, in order to help promote the work I'm doing here and justifying this blog, anyone that subscribes to this blog will get a commission FREE!!!!!! need a D&D character concept? Subscribe = FREE. Need an environment? Subscribe = FREE!!! Need a logo? Need a shirt design? Subscribe = FREE. This offer is very limited and expires whenever the hell I want it to, so act FAST. This is a very real proposal, so take advantage of it. Tell folks!
Oh yeah and then there is this Cyborg guy. He'll blast you with his guns because he's mad at humans for sparing his life after a long ugly war removed his limbs. He just wanted to die, but governments rebuilt him, made him stronger, they had the damn technology, right? Now after learning he is a tool of said government, he has a vendetta to settle. And you could have one done for FREE if you just subscribe to this blog. LEAVE A COMMENT TOO, WILL YA?

So here's something
In this piece I was discovering a painting method that one of my art heroes, Dave Raposa, uses. This technique uses layer upon layer with 100% opacity brushes that are rough and gritty. The past 2 posts also use this technique, but each with their own variation to accommodate the actual art piece. This piece features a barbarian female, hammering out a kris blade over hot coals. Its so hot in her shed, she strips to her skivvies.

no more mr. new blog
Okay, so I am ready to start posting a little more seriously. But here's the deal: I'm always open to suggestion and critique, so if you have any tips on what I'm doing and what can be done better, put it up while I'm still taking comments. Comments are for a limited time only. Please keep them respectful. Oh hey, look a castle in the sky!
First Post
Hey everyone, this is my first post. I just wanted to introduce my work. Right now I'm trying to get noticed as a concept artist (ahem, game companies). While I'm still trying to build this site, you can view some of my work here or at my website davehollandart.com.
